In March IPD introduced another new IPDSteel™ piston for 3116 engine applications and a new aluminum piston for 3126 engines. We also continue to add to our 3500 series program. A new aftercooler seal, part number 1073758 for the 3500B allows us to continue to develop gasket sets for the most updated product coverage in the aftermarket.

NEW IPDSteel™ ARTICULATED PISTON RELEASED FOR 3116 CATERPILLAR® MARINE AND TRUCK ENGINES.

IPD has released two new piston kit part numbers in our growing line of IPDSteel™ articulated cast steel pistons for Caterpillar® applications.

Although both of these Marine and Truck applications use the same piston crown, the rings sets differ. IPD will offer piston kits for both applications as follows:

  PK6I4248/13 3116 MARINE APPLICATIONS
  PK6I4248/14 3116 TRUCK APPLICATIONS

The development of this 1073758 molded aftercooler seal for select 3500B engines gives us the opportunity to expand our 3500B gasket set offering.

A new one piece aluminum piston has been released for specific 3126 truck and industrial applications as listed below. These new pistons are available in piston kits (PK) and in IPD in & out of frame overhaul rebuild kits for truck applications.
